LE BONS BAY BED & BREAKFAST is just 6 kilometres from Banks Peninsula’s Summit Road.
Driving from Christchurch you’ll pass through Little River and then the smaller settlement of Cooptown before climbing to Hilltop. Turn left just before the Hilltop Hotel to take the spectacular Summit Road past Pigeon Bay, Little Akaloa and Okains Bay before arriving at Le Bons Bay Road (approx 30 minutes from Hilltop). The descent into Le Bons Bay takes around 10 minutes.
Alternatively, at Hilltop, continue down into Barry’s Bay then through Duvauchelle and around the head of Akaroa Harbour before turning left into Long Bay Road just before Akaroa and climbing for approximately 10 minutes and then turn left at the summit. Le Bons Bay Road is just 5 minutes away on your right. (This route is marginally faster but much less spectacular).
If you are traveling from Akaroa, turn right into Long Bay Road just 3 minutes after leaving the township.
